Aruba Beach Cafe
1 E Commercial Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, Hillsboro Beach,
The Bimini bread was fresh and yummy topped with their whipped sweet butter. My husband and I got the special, jerk spiced ribs with black beans and white rice. The ribs were spiced nicely but a little tough. The black beans and rice were a tad bland. The in-laws both got a variety of burger. They ordered them medium, but they came out rare. When my mother-in-law sent the burger back, a new one came back promptly, but the cheese was not melted. All in all, it was a disappointing dining experience. It was at best average. Perhaps their seafood dishes and alcoholic beverages are better.

Brooks Restaurant
500 S Federal Hwy, Deerfield Beach, Hillsboro Beach,
service was very slow. The menu has changed to cater to steak lovers. The old menu was great and a greater variety of food selections. It wal not limited to just steak and fish. The escaragots were terrible unless you liked a lot of bread crumbs. The lobster was tough.I will not go back unless they go back to the old menu.

Charley's Crab
3000 Ne 32nd Ave, Fort Lauderdale, Hillsboro Beach,
This sits on the intracoastal and affords a lovely view. The seafood is good - not great but good. The staff are friendly and efficient. As a resident of Fort Lauderdale I am surprised that there are not better seafood restaurants in town. However, this is among one of the best. Prices are high - but as another reviewer said, almost everything in this town is high.

Japanese Restaurant Masamune
310 S Federal Hwy, Deerfield Beach, Hillsboro Beach,
Excellent! This is my new sushi hang out! The people were very nice and generous. They didn't slack on anything, and the sushi was the freshest I've had! The atmosphere is very relaxing, and you can take out if you wanna just hang at home :)

Mai-Kai Restaurant and Lounge
3599 N Federal Hwy, Fort Lauderdale, Hillsboro Beach,
We are planning our yearly visit back to the area and the one place the whole family (ages 8-60) agrees on going back to is the Mai Kai!! It is a bit pricey, but it is so much fun for everyone that it is worth the expense. We thought the food was great and the entertainment was wonderful. The gardens were open and it was beautiful and relaxing to walk through after the meal. The only complaint is that the tables are really crammed together. With all the people entering and exiting along with the service people I felt a little crowded. Overall it was a great experience.
